Martin Prokop is testing new car for Dakar 2017

One year back, we could introduce Martin Prokop as a rally driver, pilot of Fiesta WRC, the most successful Czech driver in history of World Rally Championship. But within several months, he managed to drive Toyota Hilux at Dakar 2016 (his first Dakar, 14th place), Mercedes SLS AMG GT3 on track alongside Robert Kubica and finished 2nd with Buggyra Phoenix truck at FIA Cross-Country Rally Baja Spain. This multisport period is actually closed up with development testing of the future Ford Fiesta WRC 2017 and most importantly he is not forgetting the peak of this season for him and his team MPSports – Dakar 2017.  ...

Martin Prokop 8th at Rally Portugal

After more than two months and dropped Rally Argentina, the crew of Jipocar Czech National Team – Martin Prokop and Jan Tománek – appeared back in WRC again and scored valuable 8th place at Rally Portugal last weekend. After 7th place in Mexico, another good WRC points for Prokop who is having a kind of multi-motorsport season this year. Starting with his first ever participation at Dakar, continuing with circuit racing in Mercedes SLS GT3 in 12H Mugello with Robert Kubica and short race at Brno, where Martin managed to win the event, this patchy year will be closed down by Dakar Rally again.  ...

Martin Prokop and Jan Tomanek finished Rally Sweden on excellent 8th place

After a three-week break, the carousel of the WRC spun again. This time, it was the legendary Swedish Rally with its challenging character of the surface. Compared to last year and its very special conditions, it was Sweden as we know it waiting for the competitors. Great snow banks, ice and unforgettable atmosphere. Martin Prokop and Jan Tomanek driving Ford Fiesta RS WRC weren´t missing at the start either. Martin Prokop started the Swedish Rally very well despite the trouble with gearbox. Due to a disorderly fan who ran across the track, Martin Prokop had to brake and lost fourth gear due to rapid gear change. Despite all the problems Martin fought on the front walls, just a few seconds from fifth place. His balanced ride brought him to the beautiful seventh place after the first day.   ...

Prokop and Tománek opened the season with 9th place

New season of World Rally Championship started with challenging Rally Monte Carlo and Martin Prokop with Jan Tománek from Jipocar Czech National Team remained at 9th position from the half way until the end of the race. Two points in competition of factory teams are still better than nothing, or than frustrating retirement because of alternator failure in 2014, but Czech team is not extremely satisfied.   ...

Martin Prokop 9th at Wales Rally after stunning performance of the last day

After two good days at Wales Rally GB, Martin Prokop was heading the last leg of the event and the whole 2014 WRC season from 10th place of the overall classification. And he would not bet on himself that he will finish the race in top 10. Hyundai driver Hayden Paddon just six seconds back and fast and stout Robert Kubica another seventeen aloof. 46 kilometres on muddy and slippery surface of Welsh special stages was promising tough fight for 10th place and one point into the general classification of the whole season. Martin Prokop and Jan Tománek did well during the previous two legs but during that Sunday morning they had to show their best possible performance and determination of experienced world rally crew. And they succeeded!   ...

Excellent performance of Martin Prokop at Rally Catalunya

He has had many better results in terms of placing in the final classification. For example fourth places from Argentina 2012 and Germany 2013. But his best performance behind the wheel of Ford Fiesta WRC came last weekend during Rally Catalunya. Minimum time loss per kilometre behind the best factory drivers with top specs cars, active racing also during the last day of the rally, where not much was at stake. Martin Prokop didn´t move up from the eight position after the Friday leg, yet there is an excellent mood and satisfaction in the Jipocar Czech National Team after the Spanish rally.   ...

Martin Prokop finally in top 10 of Rallye de France

After two days of rally action in the northeast of France, the crew of Jipocar Czech National Team was entering the final leg of Rallye de France from the 11th place of overall classification. The big time gaps in front and to the back from Martin Prokop and Jan Tománek were not promising any changes in the leader board in case of expected standard scenario when drivers wanted to finish the rally safely.  ...
